Error getting logged in users in AnyView Site Management
20 January 2003
Issue Description
When using the AnyView Site Management Utility, after selecting 'Actions >> Manage Sites, the following error is displayed:
"Error getting logged in users: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Login failed for user 'sa'."
This error occurs for one of two reasons.
- The SQL Login for External Users in the AnyView DSN Setup window is an invalid login.
- The SQL Login for External Users in the AnyView DSN Setup window is using a login created in SQL Enterprise manager, or a login which has had it's password set in Enterprise Manager and not through Great Plains.
Solution
Open the AnyView DSN Setup window by going to Utilities > System > AV DSN Setup.
From the DSN Setup window, enter a **valid Login and Password for External Users.
**For versions 7.82 and earlier, the SQL Login for External Users must be a valid Great Plains login, and must be maintained in the Great Plains User Security window. Any Login created or maintained in SQL Enterprise Manager will cause the issue.
Note: This affects AnyView Site Management ONLY. Any valid SQL Login will work correctly for AnyView Browser External Logins.
