Error Opening ASI_Forms_Printer_Dest_Setup 32

Issue Description

This error occurs for one of two reasons:

  1. The 'Path to Setup File' selected in the Forms Printer Setup window is invalid.
  2. The File created in the folder selected as the 'Path to Setup File' has been corrupted.

Solution

Verify that the Setup Path is Valid.

  1. Open the Forms Printer Setup window, and click OK to the error message.
  2. Listed in the 'Path to Setup File' field is the path originally chosen for Forms Printer to create the Setup file.
  3. Verify that this path is valid from the current machine.

Note: If this is a mapped drive, be sure that the drive is mapped, and that the current user has proper access to the folder.

Recreate the Setup File.

  1. Open the Forms Printer Setup window, and click OK to the error message.
  2. Listed in the 'Path to Setup File' field is the path originally chosen for Forms Printer to create the Setup file.
  3. Make note of the path selected, and close the Setup window.
  4. Using Windows Explorer, browse to the selected folder, and locate the ASI12312.DAT and ASI12312.IDX files. Delete these two files.
  5. Once these files are removed, reopen the Forms Printer Setup window in Great Plains. A new version of the file will be created, and the error will no longer appear.
